This is supplemental to your auto insurance and you can get coverage in the amounts of $1 million or more. For instance in the above example if you had three people injured and their claims exceeded your liability coverage, the umbrella policy would kick in and cover the rest up to the umbrella policy limits. Umbrella policy limits usually start at a million dollars.
